The Moringa

Written by

Miracle Tree of Life

Trees play a major role in supporting human existence on Earth because they give us much needed oxygen while we return CO2 to them.  Trees and humans have a symbiotic and spiritual relationship.  In addition, several species of trees provide humans with nutritional and medicinal fruits, seeds, barks and leaves.  The leaves of Moringa Oleifera Tree, for example, are a highly nutritious super food and have many quite remarkable healing properties.

The Moringa is in fact one of the most nutrient rich trees in the world.  Scholarly research from 750 studies worldwide has confirmed its nutritional value and healing importance to humans, animals and the environment. The Moringa Tree can be grown in some of the harshest and driest soils; it is said to “never die” because it can survive harsh weather and drought.  However, cold weather can kill the Moringa Tree.  The Moringa Oleifera Tree is also known as the drumstick tree (due to the long, slender, triangular seed-pods), horseradish tree (the roots taste like horseradish) and benzoil tree (oil come from the seeds).

The Moringa Oleifera Tree is a local specie from tropical climates of Asia and Africa of the flowering plant family Moringaceae. There are approximately 85 different types of the Moringa Tree. It grows well in the hot and warm climate countries of Benin, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Barbados, Brazil, Cuba, Haiti, Guadeloupe, Puerto Rico, Trinidad, Jamaica, etc. Moringa can contain 539 known compounds and Traditional African Healers know that it can prevent and cure many diseases and maladies.

The Moringa Oleifera’s size can vary from small herbs to massive trees that grow and mature rapidly to 20 feet in just 2 years. It can grow to 39 feet in height, 17 feet in diameter and live to 40 years. The leaves of the Moringa Tree have been proven scientifically to be rich in 20 types of amino-acids, 46 antioxidants, 36 anti-inflammatory compounds, and 90 nutrients. In addition, it is an excellent source of minerals like iron, calcium and vitamins A, B, B1, B2, B3, B6, C, E as well as macro minerals, trace minerals, phytonutrients, quality protein and dietary fiber. The macro and trace minerals in the Morinaga Tree are chromium, copper, manganese, magnesium, phosphorous and zinc. It is suggested to consume dried leaf powder as opposed to the natural leaves because the powder contains dense nutrients up to ten times more than fresh Moringa leaves. Moringa powder is an excellent source to prevent malnutrition. One of the major advantages of Moringa is that there are no known side effects. Furthermore, one can store Moringa leaves or powder for months. They can be consumed by pregnant women and babies. Moringa has 25X times the Iron of spinach, 17X times the calcium of milk, 15X times the potassium of bananas, 10X times the vitamin A of carrots, 9X times the protein of yogurt, 7X times the vitamin C of oranges and 4X times the chlorophyll of wheatgrass.

Here are some of the  health benefits of Moringa Powder: boosts stamina, controls diabetes, anti-oxidant, lowers cholesterol, controls blood pressure, detoxifies, treats depression, treats minor infections, improves immunity, glowing skin, delays aging, heals wounds, improved hair growth and quality.  Moringa oil is used in cooking, hair and skin products.  Moringa seeds are eaten like peas and roasted nuts.  Moringa roots are used to make tea. Moringa trunk is squeezed into a juice. Moringa stems are cooked and eaten like okra vegetables. Moringa leaves are used as forage to improve livestock existence. The high content of Moringa Oleifera oil acid is used to produce biodiesel fuel.  Furthermore, Moringa can help plants to grow and produce a greater yield, nourish the soil, the seeds can purify water, branches can make fences---for all of those reasons it is a bona fide Miracle Tree of Life.

Furthermore, there is evidence that Moringa oil was already known and much appreciated during African antiquity. For instance, Maiherperi (The Loin of Battlefield)  the Nubian-Kemet Noble who was buried in the Valley of the Kings (he lived around the rule of Thutmose IV – 18th Dynasty - 1401–1391 BC), in tomb KV36 with vases filled with Sacred Moringa Oil.

This is especially significant, since the expensive oils which some of them held were usually among the first items to be stolen because they did not keep long. Some of the dockets attached to the jars indicated that they had contained b3k-oil, a very expensive item made from Moringa nuts. The calcite vase seen on this plate still contained about three quarts of rancid oil when it was discovered.
