Homeschooling, common among white Americans, is showing an increase among African- Americans kids as well. African-Americans now make up about 10% of all homeschooled children in this fastest-growing form of education. For most parents, sending their children to school is normal. In fact, some are even relieved not to have to take care of their children all day long, and are happy that school is starting again. Like an acquaintance of mine shared with me lately about her four children, “I had them all over me all summer long, I really need a break now!” Long live school, then!
